Sara Cabeza de Vaca signs with Iridium and wins her pro debut at WOW 32

The Spanish flyweight becomes the first Spaniard signed by Las Vegas agency Iridium and opens her professional MMA record with a unanimous decision win in Seville.

Spanish MMA has a new name to follow. Sara Cabeza de Vaca has become the first Spanish fighter to sign with Iridium, the Las Vegas management agency, and she has started her professional career exactly the way she wanted: with a win, in front of a home crowd, in Seville.

A winning debut at WOW 32

On 26 September 2026, at WOW 32 in Seville, Sara made her professional debut in the flyweight division (56.7 kg). Her original opponent, Paula Sánchez, withdrew injured, and Ludmila Scurco stepped in as the replacement. Sara went the distance and won by unanimous decision. Her professional record now stands at 1-0.

WOW, short for Way of Warriors, is one of the leading MMA promotions in Spain, and its cards have become a showcase for the next generation of Spanish fighters.

The first Spaniard at Iridium

The signing with Iridium gives Sara representation in Las Vegas, the centre of the MMA world. For a fighter who has just turned professional, it means management, matchmaking and contacts with the big international promotions. Being the first Spaniard on the agency's roster also says a lot about where Spanish MMA is heading after the Topuria era.

A fighter built on striking

Sara's base is taekwondo: she is a black belt, and her kicks are the core of both her fighting style and her content. Before turning pro she built a strong amateur résumé:

  • Spanish striking champion in 2025.
  • Silver medal at the GAMMA World Championships in Brazil.
  • An unbeaten debut in AFL, where she beat Anaïs Pepey.
  • The first Spanish woman invited to train at the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas.

She prepared for WOW 32 with a 32 day fight camp in Phuket, Thailand, and she trains in Madrid at AFC Villalba. Outside the cage she holds a double degree in Law and Business Administration.
